Conquests & quests
Jan. 13th, 2005 09:16 pmI now know the reason why people go out, invade & annexe other countries. If have a map of the world and a set of map pins, it is impossible to stick one in every country in Europe without knocking out others. SE Asia isn't looking any more promising. Now, if you'd had to spend a few hours trying to get all the bloody pins in, you'd be very tempted to go out and reduce the number of countries in particular areas.
Of course, with the development of computers and software that print marks on maps for you, it's OK for there to be lots of small countries now. So...
(And why am I sticking map pins into a map of world? One for each country I have a coin for, of course.)
I have also discovered that the Quest for Glory series (THE best computer games ever) has been discontinued/dropped by Sierra so now you can't buy any of them anywhere! Except, of course, on Ebay. Bah. I do have copies of I - IV that I copied over from the middle computer that should (ha!) work (The first two of them were copied over from the 286. Install disks? Yeah, right. )
and I managed to get IV up and running, except I get runtime errors in the second room and it has to have 256 colours to work and the comptuer does not like that and tends to freeze at odd times :|
Maybe I can get the middle computer set up and use that as a game computer. Now there's a thought.
