I'm so chirpy and happy today it's starting to annoy me.

It's two sleeps to Christmas, you know, when you're supposed to be stressed and running around worrying about everything being ready in time and what have you forgotten and there's just too much to do and why are the bloody shops always so crowded and lines so long and the weather so hot.

Me, if I miss the traffic lights, I just smile and lounge against the pole and look around at what's going on.

Desserts are made, presents are wrapped (except I need to buy some more sunflower seeds to put into one), tree is up, house is clean. Scary

The leading stories on the news today:

Earthquake measuring 8.1 hit just off Macquarie Island last night (about 700 km southeast of Hobart) which was felt throughout mainland Tasmania, well, not in this bit. The largest in the world in the last 4 years they say. The scientists on MI say they & the seals didn't notice it. So, is that the 'big one' that's been due to hit Tasmania?

The second story, it's the 30th anniversay of Tracy visiting Darwin for Christmas. Cyclone Tracy hit the city early Christmas morning and left, well, see for youself:

So, if you think your Christmas Day is turning into a disaster, just remember it could be much worse.
