Hazards of Cleaning
Dec. 13th, 2004 07:01 pmSometimes I'm surprised I don't managed to hurt myself myself more seriously.
The other day I'm in the kitchen, slip on a wet spot, get one foot tangled in a gracery bag and fall against the door. Fortunately, it was the door.
Tonight, I'm picking stuff up off the floor* and I leaning back to get some stuff around the stereo. I put my hand out to support myself, as you do, and twisted until all my weight was resting on one index finger. Oddly enough, it gave way and for one scary moment I thought I'd broken it. I think I got away with slight bruising that will be aggravated by typing. But isn't everything :(
*Because computer in in the living room, I don't want to put up Christmas tree until it's moved back into the other bedroom, and I can't move it back in until other bedroom is Cleaned. So with extra motivation it's actually getting done. At the moment, it's not Clean but it's Lived In (that is, it looks like a room that needs a Clean but it's not a horrifying mess). More importantly, once I've run the vaccuum cleaner over the floor around the desk, that corner will pass for Clean so I am going to move the computer in there tonight!!!!
This will give me a sense of accomplishment (sad, innit?) and encourage me to get THIS room back into order (and as this room isn't actually lived in, it for visitors, walking through & watching TV in, it's easy to keep tidy once it gets back to a tiday state.
