Scribble, scribble
Dec. 3rd, 2004 10:17 pmOn the plus side I finally opened up temp.doc (my working file for WIP) and typed up some changes. Not a lot but I did SOMETHING. Yah. Now to keep going.
"Keep quiet," Madden whispered in her ear, "or I'll break your scrawny neck."
So there he is with his arm around her neck and I have to get her out. Wasn't I supposed to do that in the first draft?
On the negative side, I was listening to the random songs on the hard drive, as if I don't know them all word for word by now, and two totally different but consecutive songs triggered a batch of ideas that resolved into a situation and... a pair of characters. An outlaw (big surprise there) by the name of Fox. That's not his real name, he won't tell me his real name, he's nameless like the character in that article on the back page of the paper there. (Why do I get the feeling everything I see/read/hear in the next couple of days is going to tie into this story?) But Fox is appropriate seeing as he's head to find and people aren't sure is he even exists (local joke there, don't worry about it). The other character is his girlfriend, who doesn't have a name yet. Thought it might start with S.
So, I made a deal with them. Give me something original for your story and I'll think about it.
Sure, they say, and it'll only be a short story, you know. Or maybe a bit longer, say 10,000 words.
Yeah, right. Do you think I was born yesterday or something?
Just as long as I kept working on WIP, which needs a working title. "Prequel to Nanonovel 2" is a bit long.
