Today was market day. We seem to be getting consistency in sales levels, if not in what sells and when. Today, for example, I had lots of little sales of one or two of each item type; no runs on anything this week. And a lot of that came from a guy who turned up while we were packing up, and talked while he was looking through (and buying) coins. Took us ages to pack up but it's the customer interactions that are the fun bit.

Last night... sister has 5 week old GSD puppies, 5 of them, and they squeal, loudly and longly, when they want something. This included when they wake up in the middle of the night and want a drink or to go to the toilet. 3 more weeks, she keeps saying, 3 more weeks.

As for yesterday. Launceston Show was last week. We did the usual grumbling about how boring it is these days & how it costs too much to get in & then you have to pay more once youre in there. Then we had an idea -- let's do what mum & dad used to do when we were kids and go to Longford Show, which is the following weekend. It's only one day compared to Launceston's 3 days, but it's cheaper and it has all the important stuff.

This is where I usually put in the explanation of what a show is but you know a picture is worth a thousand word so here's a novella :)

What to guess what one of the main industries in the Longford area is?

And for the benefit of anyone who's asked "what's a kelpie", there's a couple shown in action. You might have to look closely at the photo of the sheep in the metal run (to the right of the budgie display photo).

And in case that's not enough incentive to look, I just noticed how many Australian breeds/animals I've included. Just how many can you find? ;)
